Hatcher leverages our deep knowledge of education and the media landscape to expand the profile and impact of APA’s projects and campaigns to improve the lives and well–being of young people. Over years of partnership, Hatcher and APA have built a highly collaborative and trusting relationship.
In addition to ongoing strategic counsel, we provide a full suite of communications support. Hatcher creates engaging videos, motion graphics and infographics; develops and deploys paid ad campaigns to reach young people; leads earned media activities, including drafting press releases and Op-Eds; and conducts all media outreach.
Hatcher develops targeted media lists, writes press releases, and pitches top reporters to build visibility of APA and its partners’ work. For the recent launch of a major APA report, Hatcher developed and executed an earned media strategy, generating broad coverage in major national and trade publications. Hatcher helped edit, coordinate, and publicize a series of youth-authored Op-Eds in a national education-focused publication. The opinion pieces addressed students’ experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and offered ideas for building more inclusive and equitable schools.
As part of APA’s mission to elevate the voices of young people, Hatcher produced and disseminated a series of video interviews with young people across the country to discuss their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
