Momentum is building behind the campaign to expand the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for workers without dependent children, and Hatcher-led initiative Tax Credits for Workers and their Families (TCWF) is helping to lead the effort with a fully-redesigned website that makes it easier for advocates to find the resources they need to make their tax credit campaigns successful.
TCWF is a non-partisan communications initiative led by The Hatcher Group working to promote tax credits for low-wage workers, such as the EITC, Child Tax Credit (CTC) and Child and Dependent Care Credit (CDCTC.) Through work with policymakers and advocates at both the state and federal levels to develop communications strategies and materials, it helps raise awareness of and build support for these credits. Formerly Tax Credits for Working Families, TCWF recently rebranded to Tax Credits for Workers and their Families to better reflect its increased efforts to support the expansion of the EITC for workers not raising children, the lone group of taxpayers currently being taxed into poverty and receiving little to no support from the EITC.
TCWF’s digital needs were two-fold: the initiative needed updated and uniform branding materials and a website that could not only house but sort through the hundreds of resources that TCWF had accumulated since 2007.
The team – composed of designers, social media experts, and strategic communications staff from The Hatcher Group – worked over the course of five months to create new branding, which included a logo and style guide. The team also created a new website for TCWF, which features a custom search tool allowing advocates to quickly find news, infographics and other materials they need to run successful campaigns.
