At Hatcher, we continually strive to create meaningful and beautiful communication tools that help our clients achieve their goals. Our desire to see results for the communities our clients tirelessly serve and support drives our strong work ethic. Going above and beyond in pursuit of real impact isn’t something we sometimes do; it’s our everyday. We’re thrilled to announce that during 2020, Hatcher won an unprecedented 44 awards for excellence in our communications, design, marketing, web, and video work.
The work we do at Hatcher is only possible because of our mission-driven clients’ commitment and passion. Being recognized is more than an opportunity to take pride in our work: it raises the profile of our clients’ work and missions. This past year, our excellence was acknowledged by the dotCOMM Awards, Graphic Design USA, American Web Design Awards, MarCom Awards, and Maryland PRSA Best in Maryland Awards.
The winning work includes integrated marketing, social media, videos, logo design, and earned media campaigns. These awards are a testament to what is possible when passion and curiosity fuse in pursuit of a common goal – when we are powered by purpose.
2020 marked Hatcher’s first entry in the prestigious Maryland PRSA competition. Our team was honored to receive the Best in Maryland Award for a video we produced for Afya Baltimore, as well as an Award of Excellence for our Maryland 529 marketing campaign.
Hatcher created the four-minute documentary-style video for Afya Baltimore as part of a strategic communications plan to introduce prospective parents and students to the Afya Baltimore network of public charter schools. Using the power of storytelling to communicate Afya’s philosophy and create a unified identity for Afya’s three unique public charter schools, the video focused on the “Afya Way” – a learning model that emphasizes social and emotional development alongside physical health.
For the award-winning Maryland 529 campaign, we developed and executed a comprehensive marketing plan that included detailed audience personas, key performance indicators for each campaign, and messages to reach audiences throughout Maryland. Tactics included paid advertising — digital, TV, radio, billboards — print brochures, and public relations outreach, as well as social media and influencer engagement, which grew MD529’s brand across Facebook and Twitter. Our digital ads targeted Marylanders based on interests, location, and previous website browsing history across Facebook, YouTube, and Google Search.
