It’s safe to say that as communications and design professionals, we love what we do. We especially love working with our mission-driven clients. After all, they allow us to bring our ideas to life. Their delight in the finished product is still the greatest reward, but we can’t deny that receiving recognition for our work is quite nice. In that spirit, I’m thrilled to announce Hatcher has won 11 international 2020 dotCOMM Awards for excellence in marketing and communication. The winning work includes integrated marketing, social media, and earned media campaigns. These awards are a testament to what is possible when passion and drive fuse in pursuit of a common goal – when we are powered by purpose.
The work we do at Hatcher is only possible because of the commitment and passion of our mission-driven clients. It is our privilege to collaborate with them to educate and motivate people – through powerful marketing and communications – to build movements and create a better world.
Our strong work ethic is driven by our desire to see results for the communities our clients tirelessly serve and support. Going above and beyond in pursuit of real impact isn’t something we do sometimes; it’s our everyday. Being recognized is more than an opportunity to take pride in our work – it raises the profile of our clients’ work and missions.
The dotCOMM Awards is an international competition, judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, honoring excellence in web creativity and digital communication. This year, they received thousands of entries from across the world. Out of these entries, only a small percentage are recognized as awardees, and we are proud the work we created for our clients can be counted among them. Hatcher received three Platinum Awards, four Gold Awards, and four Honorable Mentions.
One of our Platinum Award-winning projects was the Baltimore Votes Coalition’s digital marketing and communications campaign to educate Baltimore residents about voting by mail and encourage them to vote in the April special election and June primary. To reassure people about voting by mail, inform them about the new process, share information about candidates and issues, and get people to vote, Hatcher developed and deployed a multi-faceted marketing and communications campaign for the Baltimore Votes Coalition. Our work on the campaign helped to increase voting numbers in Baltimore. The city had the highest percentage of vote by mail and absentee ballots returned in any jurisdiction in Maryland, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections.
Hatcher also received a Gold Award for our digital marketing and communications campaign with 100,000 Opportunity Youth (100K) ahead of their virtual National Youth Hiring Day. Across all digital advertising platforms, we were able to generate nearly 13 million impressions, launching campaigns on a variety of platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Indeed, Google Search, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as programmatic ads. Our paid digital strategy resulted in an efficient and effective outreach campaign that drove over 7,000 people to register for the event.
