Kristen joined The Hatcher Group in 2016 and currently oversees the firm’s environment sector and a broad range of clients, such as the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Prior to joining the firm, Kristen was the senior manager of strategic communications for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, where she developed and executed communication plans to advance the department’s mission. Kristen also enhanced departmental communications materials—translating technical information into clear, concise and compelling copy. She managed messaging and media relations for significant state and regional environmental issues, including restoring the Chesapeake Bay and adapting to climate change.
In addition to her work for Maryland, Kristen worked in communications, crisis communications and media relations for several Fortune 500 companies, including Stanley Black & Decker in Towson, Maryland—where she worked with nonprofits, overseeing her division’s charitable giving program—and Sun Life Financial in Boston, Massachusetts and Waterford, Ireland.
She has a Graduate Diploma in Journalism/Media Communications from Griffith College Dublin and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Villanova University.
