Michael Mershon

Senior Vice President

Michael Mershon has more than 25 years of experience in political communications, strategy, and advocacy.

He works on major initiatives and clients focused on public health, poverty, and education, including Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Montgomery Planning, the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, Maryland 529, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Prior to joining The Hatcher Group, he served as director of advocacy and communication for Sojourners, a leading faith-based advocacy organization in Washington. He began his career on Capitol Hill, where he worked for over 20 years as a press secretary, speech writer, and deputy chief of staff.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, Michael lives in Bethesda with his wife, their two children, and a rambunctious springer spaniel.
