“Diplomas Now” Student Stories

Telling stories in compelling ways is a key component of any good communications effort. But you know a client’s story has really made an impression when the U.S. Secretary of Education publicly praises it.

That’s what happened recently to Diplomas Now, which works with some of the toughest middle and high schools in the country helping students graduate ready for college and career.

The Hatcher Group researched and wrote the illuminating stories of three high school seniors who are part of the first Diplomas Now graduating classes.

The stories featured Ashley Rodriguez at Newtown High School in New York, Moises Arzu at Miami’s Booker T. Washington High School, and Stevaughn Dowdye at The English High School in Boston.

Their stories gained widespread media attention, appearing in The Boston Globe, CBS New York, NBC Boston and CBS Miami, among others. And Education Secretary Arne Duncan praised Diplomas Now at a Washington, D.C, event, where he celebrated Moises Arzu‘s success and the turnaround of his high school.
